About the role

As a Systems Engineer specializing in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will join a high-performing team dedicated to supporting federal and defense initiatives through advanced engineering services. Operating fully onsite in Dayton, Ohio, you will work within a collaborative ecosystem of multidisciplinary engineers and software developers. Your primary focus will be the creation of architecture models that accurately represent system behaviors and requirements. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system models using established MBSE methodologies to support program objectives.
  • Create detailed architecture models and represent complex system behaviors using SysML standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams of engineers and software developers to integrate modeling efforts across the project lifecycle.
  • Produce and present high-quality technical documentation and engineering artifacts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyze system data and modeling results to support critical design decisions and optimize system performance.
  • Contribute to large-scale modeling and simulation initiatives within specialized defense-focused programs.
  • Facilitate technical reviews and provide subject matter expertise on model consistency and architectural integrity.
  • Ensure all modeling activities align with program requirements and national defense standards.
  • Maintain the digital thread by linking requirements, design, and verification activities within the model environment.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory for consideration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering or MBSE roles.
  • Strong proficiency in SysML and hands-on experience with tools such as Cameo, MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect.
  • Proven experience developing models and supporting artifacts for complex systems or systems-of-systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work fully onsite at our Dayton, OH facility.
  • Strong analytical skills with a focus on system architecture and behavioral modeling.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in an engineering or technical discipline.
  • Professional industry certifications such as OCSMP, INCOSE CSEP, or PMP.
  • Familiarity with SysML 2.0 standards and emerging modeling trends.
  • Practical programming experience in Java, C++, or Python to support model automation.
  • Experience working with architecture frameworks such as DoDAF or UAF.
  • Prior background supporting aerospace or defense-specific systems and platforms.

Compensation

$135,000 – $160,000
